Young Artists in Residence
The Young Artists in Residence program allows budding theatre professionals and new artists the opportunity to work alongside and inside a nationally-acclaimed theatre company that has launched Broadway success stories, such as 4-time Tony winner Memphis. Get the insider’s perspective on how TheatreWorks produces distinguished American and West Coast new play premiers.
You want to be a professional in the performing arts? Come work with a professional theatre company to improve your skills and talents in acting, movement, voice and diction, directing, costumes, playwriting, and technical theatre.
Our Young Artists get all the perks of working with a nationally acclaimed theatre:
- Free TheatreWorks tickets to our all our main stage shows including admission to the cooler than cold annual New Works Festival!
- Opening night parties for Young Artists and Young Artists only.
- Personal interactions with the actors, musicians, stage managers and designers who work on TheatreWorks productions.
- Production of an original ten-minute play festival.
- 24 Hour Play Festival
- Performance opportunities in Bay Area monologue, poetry, and story slams.
- Guaranteed audition spot for the annual New Works Conservatory
Want to get involved even more? Join the YOUNG ARTISTS-IN-RESIDENCE COUNCIL! Help us plan activities and spread the word—you’ll receive additional credits linked to a professional theatre on a college resume.
